i.A Familiar Place

Is Digestion Shaping More Of Your Life Than You'd Like?

You might be dealing with

  • Bloating
  • Abdominal pain or discomfort
  • Diarrhoea or constipation
  • Reflux
  • Food reactions or sensitivities
  • Stress-related flare-ups
  • Fatigue and low energy
  • Brain fog

Over time, digestion can become mentally consuming, with constant monitoring of food, symptoms, routines, and how your body might respond.

Symptoms begin affecting routines, work, travel, social plans, and daily mental bandwidth.

There's no shortage of information — it's harder to know what's actually driving your symptoms or what your body genuinely needs.

Food matters, but it's rarely the whole story.

ii.An Invitation

This Is For You If —

  1. 01

Symptoms feel reactive, inconsistent, or difficult to predict despite what you've tried

  2. 02

Symptoms are starting to dominate too much of your attention and daily decision-making

  3. 03

Digestion changes during periods of pressure, poor sleep, travel, or stressful workloads

  4. 04

You've made changes through diet, supplements, or self-management, but symptoms keep returning

  5. 05

Constant monitoring of food, symptoms, and routines is becoming mentally exhausting

  6. 06

You want a clearer, more structured understanding of what's actually driving your symptoms

If symptoms still feel inconsistent despite everything you've tried, this is where they begin to make more sense.

iv.The Approach

How This Works

Amanda Callenberg in a calm, sunlit kitchen with a cup of tea

Hi, I'm Amanda. I'm an Australian, London-based registered nutritional therapist (BANT, CNHC) specialising in gut health and IBS.

I specialise in supporting those dealing with ongoing digestive symptoms that remain reactive, inconsistent, or unresolved despite diets, supplements, or standard approaches — particularly where stress, pressure, poor recovery, or long-term overload are playing a role.

Rather than looking at gut health in isolation, we examine how different systems in the body interact — including digestion, immune function, blood sugar, nutrient status, and nervous system regulation.

This is a structured, whole-body approach combining nutrition, lifestyle support, and practitioner-led nervous system work to understand the deeper patterns beneath your symptoms.

Together, we create a structured but adaptable approach that brings more clarity, consistency, and direction — building the foundations for steadier digestion and long-term resilience.

"Many arrive here after months or years of trying to 'fix' symptoms through stricter diets, supplements, or constant self-management. But persistent digestive symptoms are often being shaped by wider patterns involving stress load, recovery, nervous system regulation, immune function, and how the body adapts under pressure."

This is where gut health begins to make more sense.

v.How Digestion Interacts With The Body

A Deeper Way To Understand Digestion

Digestion does not operate in isolation from the rest of the body.

Digestive symptoms often persist not because someone is "doing things wrong", but because digestion is influenced by far more than food alone. While approaches like low FODMAP can sometimes reduce symptoms, many still feel stuck because the deeper drivers of reactivity have not been fully addressed.

Workload, poor sleep, disrupted routines, stress, training load, travel, immune function, and long-term pressure can all influence how reactive digestion becomes.

Over time, many become stuck in cycles of analysing food, monitoring symptoms, restricting more, and trying to regain control over unpredictable digestion.

The foundation of my Mind Body Biome™ approach is understanding digestive symptoms as part of a bigger picture — rather than chasing them in isolation.

The gut and nervous system are closely connected.

Many people notice symptoms worsen during periods of stress, anxiety, pressure, burnout, poor sleep, or emotional overwhelm.

Over time, digestive symptoms themselves can also place the body into a more protective and reactive state.

This can look like:

  • • Increased food sensitivity
  • • Unpredictable flare-ups
  • • Feeling constantly on edge around food or symptoms
  • • Symptoms continuing even when nutrition is "right"
  • • A busy mind that never fully switches off

While many practitioners recognise that stress and mood influence digestion, most approaches remain limited to basic stress-management tools.

Compassionate Inquiry offers a deeper yet gentle way of exploring protective patterns, rather than simply managing or compensating for them.

This work helps uncover how the nervous system and body have adapted to stress over time. By creating the safety needed to feel difficult emotions, the body can gradually move out of protection mode and into a state more supportive of healing.

Experience-informed care recognises that the body adapts to what it lives through.

For many people with long-standing digestive symptoms, there is often a history of chronic stress, burnout, pressure, overwhelm, or feeling disconnected from their body.

This can influence how the nervous system responds, how digestion functions, and how much capacity the body has available for healing.

This approach is not about overanalysing the past but about creating a calmer, more supportive way of working with the body.

That includes:

  • • Working at an appropriate pace
  • • Reducing overwhelm
  • • Supporting regulation and stability first
  • • Creating realistic, sustainable changes
  • • Helping symptoms make sense within a bigger picture

For some clients, this deeper layer of support becomes an important part of why symptoms finally begin to settle.

viii.Working Together

Ways to Work Together

Each tier offers a different level of support and depth, depending on what feels most supportive for your body and current circumstances.

Begins with weekly support to help create early stability and momentum, before transitioning into fortnightly sessions for ongoing guidance, adjustments, accountability, and personalised nutrition support that evolves throughout the programme.

Includes one deeper reflection and integration session to explore some of the underlying patterns shaping symptoms.

Designed to help reduce symptom overwhelm, improve digestive consistency, and rebuild confidence with food in a clear, supported way.

Direct 1:1 Support:

Minimum 7 Hours

Begins with weekly support to help stabilise symptoms and reduce overwhelm, before transitioning into ongoing fortnightly sessions that combine gut-focused nutritional support with deeper nervous-system-aware work.

Alongside nutritional support, the work gradually explores stress patterns, symptom cycles, and the deeper mind-body relationship shaping digestion and overall wellbeing.

Designed for people who need more ongoing support, greater nervous system awareness, and a deeper level of integration built into the process throughout.

Includes a 30-minute review session at 6 months to reflect on progress and longer-term integration.

Direct 1:1 Support:

Minimum 9 Hours

This work is highly personalised and adapts to your symptoms, nervous system capacity, and what feels most important at each stage of the process.

For some people, the focus begins with stabilising symptoms and rebuilding physical resilience. For others, the deeper stress, emotional, and nervous system patterns influencing symptoms are integrated into the work from the beginning.

Gut-focused nutritional support, nervous system regulation, emotional patterns, symptom reactivity, and deeper mind-body work are explored together throughout, rather than as separate stages.

The structure provides a supportive framework, while allowing the work itself to remain responsive, flexible, and tailored to the complexity of your body, symptoms, and life circumstances.

Includes a final review session to reflect on progress, integration, and longer-term support moving forward.

Direct 1:1 Support:

Minimum 12 Hours

Many arrive here after years of trying to manage symptoms independently without lasting consistency. If you're unsure which level of support fits, we'll work that out together on the call.

This Approach Is Right For You If

  • You're tired of self-experimenting with diets, supplements, and protocols without lasting consistency.
  • You want clearer direction and a more structured understanding of what's driving your symptoms and how to move forward.
  • You're open to looking at how stress, recovery, sleep, and daily load may be shaping digestion.
  • You're ready to stop carrying the responsibility for figuring it all out on your own.

This May Not Be The Right Fit If

  • You're looking for a quick fix or a generic programme to follow.
  • You're mainly after information, checklists, or a simple meal plan without ongoing support.
  • You'd prefer occasional advice rather than a personalised process with regular guidance and accountability.
  • You're not currently in a place where you can commit time, energy, and attention to making meaningful changes to your health.

A Practical Starting Point

Gut Health Quiz

Most who arrive here already suspect food alone doesn't fully explain their symptoms.

This short Gut Health Quiz explores digestion, energy, stress load, recovery, and daily demands to help identify what may be driving symptoms and where your system may need the most support.

It doesn't replace 1:1 care, but it offers a useful snapshot of what your system may be dealing with right now.

ix.Quick Q & A

Quick Q & A

That's completely understandable.

Many people with long-standing digestive symptoms arrive after years of self-experimentation, restrictive diets, supplements, and inconsistent results.

This work focuses on understanding what's actually driving symptoms, rather than applying another generic protocol.

As a registered Nutritional Therapist, I can also recommend advanced testing where appropriate to explore patterns that may not have been looked at in standard care.

Long-term improvement usually requires clearer understanding, proper sequencing, and consistent support over time.

The discovery call is a relaxed conversation about what's been happening for you, your symptoms, challenges, and what you've already tried.

It's a space to begin understanding what may be driving your gut symptoms or keeping things from fully improving.

If helpful, I'll share some initial thoughts, explain how I work, and answer any questions you have.

There's no pressure, just an open conversation about what could help you move forward.

Not always.

We begin by understanding your symptoms, health history, and goals before deciding whether testing would be useful.

Functional testing can provide deeper insight into gut health and digestion when the picture still feels unclear, but it's never used unnecessarily.

The focus is always on what will genuinely support your progress.

A gut health nutritionist supports people with symptoms such as bloating, reflux, IBS, constipation, diarrhoea, or food sensitivities.

This work focuses on understanding what may be driving your digestive symptoms through personalised nutrition, lifestyle support, and functional testing where appropriate.

A personalised approach also considers factors such as stress, routines, nervous system patterns, and the gut-brain connection.

Support evolves over time as your body responds and symptoms begin to settle.

Many people receive general advice, medication, or restrictive diets, but still feel their symptoms are not fully resolving.

Working with a nutritionist allows for a more personalised and detailed approach.

Rather than focusing only on symptom management, we explore the wider picture behind your digestion and overall health.

This creates greater clarity around what may be driving your symptoms and what your body may genuinely need.

Some people do make progress on their own, particularly with supportive dietary and lifestyle changes.

But when symptoms are ongoing, inconsistent, or complex, it can become difficult to know what's actually helping.

Working with a practitioner provides structure, clarity, and ongoing support, rather than relying purely on trial and error.

The process adapts as your body changes, helping progress feel more manageable and sustainable over time.

Your GP plays an important role in diagnosis, investigations, and medical care.

Nutritional therapy offers a different layer of support, with more space to explore digestion, lifestyle, symptoms, stress patterns, and day-to-day factors that may be influencing your health.

The two approaches often work very well together.

Medical care provides oversight and safety, while nutritional therapy offers the depth and ongoing support needed for longer-term digestive improvement.

Not at all.

Most clients work with me online and find it easier to stay consistent that way.

The process remains highly personalised wherever you're based.

We explore your symptoms, health history, and patterns in detail, with ongoing support and adjustments provided throughout the process online.
